IMAGE OF WOMEN IN LITERATURE

Abstract

In the current process of globalization, raising the spiritual, political and religious literacy of our people remains the greatest demand of our time. In this regard, the issue of women is of particular importance. In this article, the image of women in English and Uzbek prose is considered, and each nation has a different image of women in its literature, depending on their views. It is known that in Uzbek prose, the image of a woman is depicted as a mother, wife, housewife, while in English literature, in addition to these, it includes the role of a woman-entrepreneur, a woman-worker. In English literature the image of women has changed over time. In nineteenth-century English prose, the image of a woman was fully idealized by male writers. Moreover, the article examines the relationship between women and society from different angles. English and Uzbek literature has always been distinguished by the depth of its ideological content, its relentless pursuit of the meaning of life, its humane attitude to man, and the authenticity of its imagery. English and Uzbek writers have tried to express the best features of our people in women's images.
